Find answers to common questions about riding lessons and our services

Getting Started

What should I wear for my first lesson?

For your first lesson, wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows for movement. Long pants (jeans or riding pants) and closed-toe shoes with a small heel are required. We provide helmets and safety equipment.

Do I need any prior riding experience?

No prior experience is necessary! Our beginner lessons are designed for complete novices. We’ll teach you everything from the ground up, including safety procedures, horse care, and basic riding techniques.

What is the minimum age for lessons?

We offer lessons for riders aged 6 and up. For younger children, we have special programs designed to introduce them to horses in a safe, fun environment.

Booking and Scheduling

How do I book a lesson?

You can book lessons by calling us at (555) 123-4567, emailing info@equicise.com, or using our online booking system. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice for lesson cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may be charged the full lesson fee. We understand emergencies happen and will work with you on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes! We offer both private and group lessons. Group lessons are limited to 4-6 riders of similar skill levels and are a great way to learn while making friends.

Pricing and Packages

How much do lessons cost?

Private lessons start at $75 for a 45-minute session. Group lessons are $55 per person. We also offer lesson packages that provide discounts for multiple sessions. Contact us for current pricing and package options.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes! We offer a discounted trial lesson for new students. This is a great way to experience our teaching style and facilities before committing to regular lessons.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment is due at the time of booking or before your lesson begins.

Safety and Equipment

Is horseback riding safe?

Horseback riding is generally safe when proper safety procedures are followed. We prioritize safety in all our lessons, provide appropriate safety equipment, and use well-trained horses suitable for each rider’s skill level.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

We provide helmets and all necessary safety equipment. For beginners, we recommend using our equipment until you’re ready to invest in your own. We can help you choose appropriate gear when you’re ready to purchase.

What happens in bad weather?

We have an indoor arena, so lessons continue in most weather conditions. In cases of severe weather or unsafe conditions, we’ll contact you to reschedule your lesson.
